Adventures at the Red River Zoo!

It just so happens that our electric coop offers a free day at our local zoo.  We have not taken them up on their offer before but this time we decided to drive back to town for a very nice, but windy few hours.  Why not go? It is partly due to how simple the zoo really is (simple animals, small, but it really is great for kids) but since we had not visited for 2 years, we decided to see what was new. And there were many new improvements, changes of animals, new landscaping, and added animals.

These are gigantic colored pencils, if you didn't look close enough.  They are incredibly awesome and are a great way to make a privacy fence fun! 

 And carousel rides, can't pass up rides on a musical-go-round riding a horse! 

Mrs. McNosh Hangs up Her Wash.

Have you heard of this book? 

Well, my girls reminded me of this book. They found my little blow up foot soaking tub. Perfect for a barbie doll pool and washing their cloths. I am not sure when they decided to wash cloths, but I suggested they needed to hang them up. So, I found them cloths pins and this is how they finished. On the bunny fence. 

(The bunny is now double fenced since she is an escape artist).

And Ken even got his shoes hung out to dry!  Hence the reminder of Mrs. McNosh, she hangs everything on her cloths line. Even herself!  

The Bunny...

Meet Cee-Cee!  Caramel Chocolate, the little lady with caramel fench tipped toes, dark chocolate eyes, A Holland lop. She is sweet! 

  This bunny, who is just so cute, is 8 weeks old. She has caused quite an stir, given us the 'run around', literally.

• We picked her up Tuesday afternoon, got her home, had a blast.  
• Wednesday went find, then came Thursday. 
• Thursday: she was in her outdoor pen, the pen got moved, the girls came in, then the bunny just hopped away, through a little uneven spot in the fence. So, we looked and looked, cried a little, put out food, keep everything where it was. 
• I said a prayer, because I was so distraught, 'just show us where this darn bunny is', i pleaded or so I felt like I was, silly I know. (I was more upset that she is so small and domesticated, felt like I was throwing her to the wind and a bad mother for not watching more closely.) 
• Well, God answered that pleading prayer, because I know, He knew I needed to know He is here, still present in my what seems like a very chaotic life. That he can answer any prayers, simple or complicated. 
• Claire and Eleanore was up later then usual Friday evening and they happened to be out in the front yard, low and behold, they saw her. A larger bunny was chasing her, said Claire.  Eleanore came and got me. Then she got her dad, then dad saved the day by using a butterfly net to catch that darn bunny. That two dollar butterfly net that has never seen a butterfly has now served a purpose. Phew, I'm sort of glad I splurged. ;)
• Now, she is home, back with us, not lost, the dad was right, she did not hop to far. I don't feel like such a horrible mother, the girls are happy, so is everyone else, even the bunny. Cheers! 

A mid winter trip.

We just got back from a mini winter trip to the Twin Cities and it was delightful. 2.5 days packed with lots of visiting and we still managed to catch up on sleep. :) It truly was delightful! 

We were able to visit Jim's brother and SIL and see the new baby.  He is a very sweet baby boy. The girls enjoyed visiting him too.  We got to see their house too. Very nice. 

Saturday evening, we had a wonderful dinner with Lexie's aunt and uncle, g'ma and her friend. We were able to  celebrated two birthdays. :) One turned 29 and the other 60.  You can guess who's 60 right?  

Sunday we managed to get to church, shop, esp. for material (Oh, Happy Day) and the evening we shared a meal with a cousin of Lexie and her family.  We got to see their bea.u.ti.ful house.  It's larger then I ever want but it is just so spacious, a great view including a pond, room for the kids to grow, and so many fun little perks.  It sure makes me want a bigger house, completely finished and everything I really would like (extra rooms, my own sewing space, exercise room, walk out, LOTS of light (meaning many windows), and the girls very own play nook), but then I come back to realty and see how our house is wonderful, it works great for us, and we have such a small amount to pay off, it would be ridiculous for use to move. 

Monday, we slept in as much as we could and made our way to S.R. Harris, a fabric outlet. I was really looking for leather for my booties but I did walk out of there with some amazing flannel and cotton.  After our excursion at the fabric store and our girls behaved just amazingly, we headed out of the cities. We stopped at Lexie's aunts and uncle to get some fabulous home made soap and go to our destination: home by 6pm.  

I'd throw in some pictures but non to be had.  Here's to a good week of getting back to a schedule and some serious sewing done!

The girls...

1st in a long time of just the girls. I always have the camera making sure shots are being taken hence I am not in very many. So, I said, Jim was are all sitting here, take a couple.
